Medium-duty Panel Shelving (Type A) Guide
Type A shelving — also called medium-duty hanging-panel rack, medium-load Type A rack or simply Type A rack — sits between light-duty and semi-heavy-duty racks in load capacity, at about 250kg per level under uniform load. Shelf length is generally no more than two meters, making it one of the more widely used shelf types in mid-sized warehouses.
Structure. Shelf boards need no beam support; they fix directly to the uprights via shelf-support beams. Apart from the upper and lower beam heights, each level can be adjusted in 50mm steps. The whole rack needs no screw connections and assembles or disassembles quickly. Uprights, beams, wide/narrow hanging parts and shelf boards together form a complete plug-in structure.
Material and surface finish. Type A shelving is stamped from cold-rolled sheet and finished with electrostatic powder coating for strong adhesion, wear and corrosion resistance and a neat look. The sensible, sturdy structure makes full use of vertical space; level heights adjust freely, suiting mid-sized warehouses holding goods moved by hand.
Load specs. Per-level load ranges from 100 to 250kg, with boards moving in 50mm steps to suit goods of different heights. No bolted connections, easy disassembly, a clean appearance and manual-access operation are the main features of this rack type.
Applications. Type A shelving is widely used for light-to-medium items in retail, books, e-commerce and electronics, with manual access for mixed in-and-out picking. For warehouses and stores holding cartoned goods, small parts and packaged materials, it is a cost-effective choice.
