Cantilever Racking for Long Materials
Cantilever racks store goods on arms projecting outward from upright columns, making them especially suited to long items such as steel, profiles, pipes, sheet and lumber. Unlike conventional beam racks, cantilever racks run along both sides of an aisle, with goods loaded and retrieved lengthwise, so the warehouse depth is fully used.
Structure and types. A cantilever rack typically consists of uprights, projecting arms and connecting beams. By load side it comes as single-sided or double-sided: single-sided suits longer items handled from one side, while double-sided carries on both sides for more balanced space use. Arms can be adjusted on the uprights to set level spacing, working with pallets or directly supporting long stock.
Selection considerations. Selection mainly depends on item length, unit weight and handling method. For very long items, choose double-sided racks with longer arms; for heavy units, use thicker arm sections and closer upright spacing; where forklifts are used, aisle width and the truck's turning radius must also be built into the design.
Applications. Cantilever racks are widely used in furniture, auto parts, steel processing and profile industries for sheet, profiles and pipes, with easy access. For selection or customization, contact Nanjing Tongnuo Storage Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd.
